Congratulations to the magical duo of Penn & Teller for being honored with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
With their perfect blend of magic and comedy, Penn & Teller have entertained audiences for decades. With that blend in mind, it was so fitting to have magician David Copperfield and comedy writer Trey Parker participating in the memorable ceremony honoring this incredible duo.
In accepting the honor, Penn Jillette spoke fondly and acknowledged all of the people who helped the two along the way. Penn's speech was a bit emotional at times, especially when he paid tribute to their family members who are no longer with us, including his sister who used to walk along Hollywood Blvd with Penn and dream of the day he would get his star. Penn & Teller's star is located very close to their idol Houdini's star and can be found at 7003 Hollywood Blvd.
Penn & Teller are illusionists who have been entertaining audiences for over 35 years with their own unique style. In addition to their illusions, Penn & Teller have had many other successful endeavors including their Emmy nominated show "Penn & Teller: BS!", which was the longest running series in Showtime history as well as writing three New York Times best sellers and having numerous sold out Broadway shows, just to name a few! Their latest television endeavor takes place in the UK and is titled "Penn & Teller: Fool Us!" which tempts magicians with a chance to star in Penn & Teller's Las Vegas show. The contestant magicians are tasked with trying to fool Penn & Teller...do you think anyone can do that?
This weekend also marks another honor for Penn & Teller with the famous Magic Castle bestowing them with the prestigious "Magicians of the Year Award". For over 10 years, Penn & Teller have been performing regularly at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas and have outsold all other magic acts in town...check them out the next time you travel to Sin City!
