Candy and corsets at Missconstrued! Toxic gumdrops was the theme of the grand opening of Missconstrued Boutique in downtown Phoenix. This was not your ordinary boutique grand opening, but then again, there's absolutely nothing ordinary about Missconstrued!

On this beautiful winter evening, guests were treated to a life sized dancing gingerbread man along with three memorable fashion shows featuring creations from local designers, including signature Missconstrued pieces.

Models strutted their stuff on the outdoor stage with incredible candy inspired hair pieces created by Gerardo Bracomonte. These amazing pieces were the inspiration for the makeup artistry of Courtney Leavitt and Pooja Mehta. I was fortunate to watch the artistry unfold behind the scenes.

This holiday inspired grand opening took what I can only describe as Christmas cookie decorating to a whole new level! Only, instead of cookies being the canvas, the models were the canvas with gumdrops in their hair and candy sprinkles on their cheeks!
